Sporting Lisbon defender Eric Dier was happy to keep his head down this week during the transfer deadline scramble.

The England U21 international was being linked with Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham, while Tony Adams recommended his signing to Arsenal.

But the summer market closed with Dier still a Sporting player.

Record says the English lad has impressed Sporting coaching staff and board members with the way he has handled all the recent hype.
