Sporting Kansas City have signed Brazilian defender Julio Cesar. The 32-year old has been on trial with the MLS club since January and now has finally been signed after the club sorted out his paperwork to finalise dealings with the former Maritimo man.
SKC coach Peter Vermes told The Kansas City Star that the club had now secured the services of Cesar who has called Real Madrid in Spain, AC Milan in Italy, Benfica in Portugal, Bolton Wanderers in England, Olympiakos in Greece and Gaziantepspor in Turkey some of his home clubs.
"Getting his contract and his papers done has taken a long time," Vermes said. "But in the end, we came to a great agreement."
