Sporting Kansas City's Warzycha heads to Carolina RailHawks

Official release from Sporting Kansas City

Sporting Kansas City announced Tuesday that midfielder Konrad Warzycha has been loaned to the Carolina RailHawks for the remainder of the North American Soccer League season.

Warzycha, 23, appeared in two matches during Sporting Kansas City's 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup championship and made his MLS debut in a 2-0 win over Toronto FC in June. He also started both of the team's international friendlies against Stoke City FC (EPL) and Montpellier Herault SC (Ligue 1) this summer.

Drafted in the third round of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft out of Ohio State University, Warzycha had knee surgery and missed his rookie season last year. He scored twice during the 2012 pre-season and is one of only two Sporting KC players to appear in every MLS Reserve League match this season, making five starts and earning one assist.

Per the loan agreement, Warzycha will be made available to Sporting KC for the team's two remaining Reserve League matches on Sept. 11 and Sept. 25.
