Sporting Kansas City's Vermes not bothered by flawless start

Sporting Kansas City head coach Peter Vermes says he is not getting carried away by his side's perfect beginning to the 2012 MLS season.

The club formerly known as the Wizards have kicked off the campaign with four wins from four outings for the first time in club history but Vermes insists he is not too interested in setting any records.

"I don't put much stock in that," Vermes told MLSsoccer.com after his side beat Chivas USA 1-0 on the weekend.

"It really doesn't matter other than we have had good performances and are getting results.

"I'm not making any disrespectful comments to you guys [in the media]," Vermes added, regarding the coverage of their dream start.

"From your point of view, I understand it. But for us, there's so much more we have to accomplish as we move forward.

"We still have a lot to work on. We haven't hit the stride we want to. We're slowly growing. It's a long season and, so far, this is nothing to write home about. Now, we just have to get ready for our next game against LA."
