MLS champions Sporting Kansas City are being linked with a 2014 friendly with Premier League giants Manchester City.
According to midfielder Oriol Rosell, the 2013 MLS Cup winners will meet the 2011/12 Premier League winners at some point next year.
"We're at the level, we have good players," Rosell told Catalonian daily Sport.
"For example, two (Graham Zusi and Matt Besler) are in the US national team that will play in the World Cup.
"We are a tough team. Two years ago Kansas beat Manchester United in a friendly and this year we will play City."
A Sporting spokesman told MLSsoccer.com that it was highly likely a 'big club' would be arranged for a 2014 encounter.
"After a busy 2013, we're certainly eager to bring a big-named opponent to Sporting Park next year, but we are in the early stages of that process," the spokesman said.
"We've gotten interest from a few teams that want to come play us at Sporting Park, but we are far from the point of signing any contracts."
