Teal Bunbury is expected to return to the Sporting Kansas City matchday squad for this weekend's clash with Chicago Fire.
SKC meet the Fire at Toyota Park on Saturday in the second weekend of MLS play for season 2011 and may have Bunbury back after he dislocated his elbow during pre-season.
The 21-year old striker sat last week's 3-2 away win over Chivas USA on the bench but coach Peter Vermes indicated that he could be in action this time around, replacing Sierra Leone's Kei Kamara who is on international duty.
Bunbury is likely to get into a three-man attack alongside two-goal debutant Omar Bravo and fellow scorer CJ Sapong.
"I think it was great last week that we didn't have to use him and put him into a situation where he would have to sort of fight against some players that might have put him in a precarious situation," Vermes said.
"I think the more that we can hold him off, the better it's going to be for him and us in the long run because then he'll be fully fit again."
