Sporting Kansas City coach Peter Vermes is convinced Freddy Adu can reach his potential with Philadelphia Union.

Vermes is a big fan of the USA international.

"He has the desire and work ethic to be good," Vermes told kansascity.com. "It's not like he's one of those guys where he's like 'Yeah, I'm just gonna hang out and let it come to me.' He's not like that. He has the right frame of mind. It's just, people need to give him space to grow."
