Sporting Gijon winger Michel is on the brink of a move to Birmingham City.
The Mirror says Michel is set to become the first signing of Carson Yeung's new regime at Birmingham.
Hong Kong tycoon Yeung pledged to provide a huge January transfer kitty when he took over earlier this season.
And City have now agreed to pay £2.5million to Spanish club Sporting Gijon for their midfielder.
Michel, 24, has agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract at St Andrews, worth around £15,000-a-week.
New Brum chief executive Michael Dunford has handled the negotiations.
And the deal will thrill City manager Alex McLeish who has been chasing the ace since the summer.
