Birmingham City's move for Sporting Gijon midfielder Michel has stalled.
The Birmingham Mail says Valencia are waiting in the wings to snap up the midfielder but Gijon are keen to strike an agreement with Blues.
Talks have gone on all week and, according to sources in Spain, a deal is there to be done.
Blues have got the price down to about 3 million (£2.5 million) and provisionally agreed wages via the player's agent. But Gijon want Blues to stop prevaricating and press on, and are prepared to draw a line under the saga by Monday.
