Sporting Gijon midfielder Michel could be Birmingham's first signing of January.

The 24-year old has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Blues and the club has agreed to pay the Spanish outfit a fee of £2.5million for his services.

Birmingham owner Carson Yeung promised to help bring in quality players and Michel could prove to be the first in a new era at St Andrews.
