Sporting CP are pushing to sign permanently on-loan Manchester United winger Nani.
The Daily Star says United are currently subsidising the Portugal winger's salary while he spends the season in his homeland.
But they are keen to get rid permanently and Sporting hope to do a deal for less than £5m.
United will want more than that for a player who cost them £22m in 2007.
Nani, 27, still has four years left on a lucrative contract at Old Trafford but has been told he has no future and is open to the move.
