Sporting CP goalkeeper Rui Patricio has welcomed interest from Liverpool.

Patricio has been linked with a summer move to Anfield this week as Reds boss Brendan Rodgers seeks competition for No1 Simon Mignolet.

Rodgers plans to move on Brad Jones in the summer and is keen to add Patricio, who would provide Mignolet genuine competition.

For his part, Patricio has welcomed the news and would welcome a move to England should Rodgers firm up his interest.

The 27 year-old has spent his entire career with Sporting.
