Manchester City are lining up a double raid on Sporting CP for Gelson Martins and William Carvalho.

The Sun says Pep Guardiola is planning a major squad overhaul during the summer following his first-ever season in management without winning a trophy.

He has now set his sights on defensive midfielder Carvalho, 25, winger Martins, 22.

But the Portuguese giants will not let them leave on the cheap and it will take a huge chunk of Guardiola's transfer kitty to get a deal done.

Sources in Lisbon claim City are prepared to offer £63m for the pair, but insist Sporting will demand they stump up a further £17m for their two prize assets.
