Sponsors cash rolls into the Premier League

Premier League sponsorship activity has gone into overdrive this week, reports sportbusiness.com. Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal have all signed off on important deals and yesterday Tottenham Hotspur unveiled a two-year shirt sponsorship deal with Investec from 2010-11 to 2011-12.

Under the Spurs deal, believed to be worth £2.5 million per season, Investec will feature on the Tottenham Hotspur shirts in all cup competition matches including European club competitions, FA Cup and the League Cup. Last month Spurs announced Autonomy as its shirt sponsor for Premier League matches only.

Commenting, club chairman Daniel Levy said: "We are delighted to have Investec as our new sponsor and partner. Investec is a well respected international specialist bank and asset management company and we shall be working with them to grow their brand internationally."

Elsewhere, there are reports that Manchester City will announce new sponsorship deals with hotels group Malmaison and luxury car firm Jaguar this week.

Arsenal and Liverpool, meanwhile, have signed energy drink supplier deals with Lucozade.

There also a boost for Arsenal last week as Emirates Airlines confirmed that it would be willing to renew its shirt sponsorship and naming rights deal with the club.

Executive vice chairman Sir Maurice Flanagan, said: "The sponsorship deal will run until 2021 and will doubtless be renewed. We are very happy with it. For Emirates it is an extremely cost-effective way of maintaining worldwide exposure."
