Following the recent controversy surrounding health supplement giant Herbalife, David Beckham's spokesman, Simon Oliveira, has distanced the player from personal sponsorship.

LA Galaxy have a five-year deal with the company which has come under scrutiny for including banned substances in their products and were also allegedly involved in blocking Beckham's return to AC Milan.

But Oliveira confirmed that Beckham has nothing to do with Herbalife personally.

"Herbalife is the LA Galaxy sponsor and David has no direct relationship with them," he said.

"Any issues to do with team sponsorship need to be addressed to them."
