Celtic manager Neil Lenon believes that the Scottish Premier League is regaining its credibility largely due to his sides Champions League performances of late.
The Hoops drew 0-0 with Benfica a fortnight ago and beat Spartak Moscow 3-2 in Russia on Tuesday night and Lennon feels those results have gone a long way to suggest that Scottish football is no longer second rate after a few years in the football wilderness.
"I hope people down south take notice. It's not a backwater league any more. There are some quality players playing up here," he said.
"To go to Moscow and play like we did is testament to what the players are trying to do here. If people want to take pot-shots at Scottish football, fine.
"All we can do is answer with performances like the one in Moscow."
