Recent reports suggest that Scottish Premier League clubs are set to be invited to compete in England's Carling Cup competition.
The 2012/13 season has been mooted as the first chance for SPL clubs to take their game to England with the long-term plan to have a British Cup.
Football League brass in England are keen to vamp up the competition, which has taken a back seat in recent years, and believe that bringing in Scottish clubs at the second round to take on lower Premier League teams and those from the Football League divisions will rejuvenate the cup.
Of course there has to be approval from both governing bodies but reports indicate that there is plenty of interest from both sides of the border.
