SPL appoint successor to the late Eddie Thompson

Aberdeen managing director Duncan Fraser has been appointed as the late Eddie Thompson's successor on the board of the Scottish Premier League.

Aberdeen managing director Duncan Fraser has been appointed as the late Eddie Thompson's successor on the board of the Scottish Premier League.

Dundee United chairman Thompson passed away in October following a long battle with cancer.

Executive chairman Lex Gold said: "This appointment follows the sad passing of Eddie Thompson who served proudly on our board for several years.

"Duncan will provide valuable input to our discussions and decision making going forward."
