Livorno president Aldo Spinelli is putting the club up for sale.
Livorno were officially relegated on Sunday, despite defeating Catania 3-1.
"I hope Livorno won't be counting on me next season because I am tired," said Spinelli.
"This week there could already be a new owner. I have done five seasons in Serie A and I am happy of the job I have done here. If the fans aren't happy then I hope the next owner will do better than me.
"The most important thing though is that the buyers are genuinely interested in the club and do not wish to take advantage of it. This club needs to plan three or four years ahead.
"This team cannot afford big wages. In the long term, Livorno should gamble on youngsters.
"I am yet to start negotiations. This morning I met up with an agent who said he knows a potential buyer, who is up for the challenge. If this 'someone' will prove to be reliable I will talk directly to him.
"I am just waiting to know more about his project while I hope his bid will match my demands."
