Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni would like to see the new manager installed as soon as possible.
Palace's owners are now faced with selecting their fourth manager since taking the club out of administration.
"We as players would like someone as soon as possible but there is no point just appointing one without doing the research," said Speroni to the South London Press.
"It's going to take time for a new manager to settle and know the players he has. An extra week is not going to hurt anybody. The club need to make sure they make the right decision."
