Speroni hoping Palace buy in January

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni hopes they can have a successful January market.

Speroni welcomed the prospect of Tony Pulis hitting the January sales after Crystal Palace's failure to beat 10-man Norwich City saw them slip back into the bottom three.

"I don't know [whether we need reinforcements], that is for the manager to decide," he said. "But this is the most competitive league in the world so we always need to fight for our positions in the team. That's nothing new.

"It's going to be like this until the end of the season. Nothing is going to be decided in the next few weeks but obviously we want to be strong at home to give ourselves a chance.

"We know what we need to do and we're more solid than we have been. There's still a lot of things we can do to improve but I think we are on the right path."
