The wife of Gary Speed is baffled by his apparent suicide, it has been revealed.

Former Leeds United and Newcastle United star Speed was NOT depressed and did NOT row with wife Louise before killing himself, his agent said yesterday.

Hayden Evans also told The Sun: "She doesn't understand it. They were happily married. It's a mystery."

Gary's wife says she is bewildered and baffled by his suicide.

Hayden, also the couple's best man, said yesterday the couple had not argued before Wales boss Gary hanged himself.

He added: "Louise is saying that's not the case. She just doesn't understand it."
