SPECIAL LOAN MENTION: Chelsea midfielder van Ginkel makes it two in two for PSV

Marco van Ginkel has begun his loan spell with PSV Eindhoven in fine fashion.

The attacking midfielder joined PSV from Chelsea at the beginning of February following his stint with Stoke City during the first half of the campaign.

Former Vitesse Arnhem star Van Ginkel opened his account in the 2-0 win at FC Utrecht on February 7 before making it two in two outings as Phillip Cocu's side remained top of the Eredivisie with a 3-0 triumph at NEC Nijmegen - their seventh league win in a row which has extended their unbeaten streak to 17 matches.

PSV captain Luuk de Jong headed home Jetro Williams' cross from the left in the 16th minute before the former Newcastle United loanee turned provider when nodding into the path of Jurgen Locadia who turned it home in then 67th minute.

With 15 minutes remaining, PSV played it out to the right where Locadia took a touch before spotting up van Ginkel who slammed it home emphatically with a first-time finish to wrap it up.

Chelsea youngster Todd Kane played a full 90 minutes at right-back for NEC, picking up a yellow card in the 11th minute, while ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones had the gloves for the losing team.

He made a key save to deny Jurgen Locadia early in the second half before keeping out Luciano Narsingh's well-struck effort minutes later.

In the end, however, PSV outclassed NEC to secure a 17th win of the campaign which has them sitting a point clear of rivals Ajax but with van Ginkel adding plenty of creativity in attack, expect the 22-time Dutch champions to kick on as they look to make it back-to-back title wins.
