Spartak Moscow remain keen on Spurs striker Pavlyuchenko

Spartak Moscow have offered Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko a return to his former club.

Spartak boss Valeri Karpin insisted at the weekend he would not pay the reputed £15m asking price for Pavlyuchenko, but has now revealed he is still in negotiations.

"There isn't a specific amount that we are willing to pay," said Karpin. "And even if there was I would not announce it in public.

"We already offered a large sum. And, incidentally, in the summer we made an offer to loan him for a year, but Tottenham did not accept it."
