Arsenal striker Carlos Vela is a target of Spanish basement boys Xerez. The 20 year old has failed to command a place in the Gunners starting XI since joining in 2005 and the Mexico forward is eager for first-team football to stake a claim in his country's World Cup challenge.
"We are looking to bring in a forward who can stop the lack of goals in the team," a Xerez spokesperson said.
"We are looking at a number of options in the European and Spanish markets and it is possible that Carlos will arrive in the winter market."
