SkySports reports respected Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague says Real Madrid presidential hopeful Florentino Perez wants to appoint Arsene Wenger as coach. Perez, who twice tried and failed to bring the Frenchman to the Bernabeu during his previous presidency in 2003 and 2006, has made informal contact and not been directly dismissed.

Writing on his personal website, guillembalague.com, Balague feels that the former Monaco boss is becoming unsettled at the criticism of the Gunners four trophyless years.
