Spain's Minister for Sport Miguel Cardenal says there's been no discussion about suspending the El Clasico over security concerns.
Barcelona travel to Real Madrid this weekend for the first El Clasico of the season.
Cardenal expressed a message of “tranquillity and normality" in the wake of the Paris attacks and the cancellation of the Belgium vs Spain friendly.
“Concurrence is absolute across Spain in these circumstances", said the official with regard to the Clásico on Saturday between Real Madrid and Barcelona, guaranteeing that: “there will always be maximum security" for every sporting event.
“We are in safe hands, we trust the security forces and state bodies, who know exactly how to protect us. We are the people with the most interest in preventing anything from happening and when the advice is to cancel a match, we'll do it. Concurrence is absolute across Spain in these circumstances," said Cardenal attempting to bring a message of calm after the National Sporting awards ceremony in Madrid.
