Spalletti thrilled with superb Roma performance

Roma coach Luciano Spalletti was full of praise for his players after last night's 2-0 defeat of Roma.

Simone Perrotta finished off a flowing move for Roma's opener before Francesco Totti rounded off the scoring in the second-half with a clinical finish.

"We created quite a few scoring opportunities and I have to say the first goal was a wonderful move," said Spalletti.

"Today the lads took the right approach. They were unlucky in some instances, but they were fighting all the way and constantly looking for the goal.

"Juan has great character and intelligence in dealing with defensive situations, plus he has this very muscular sprint and is quick to sort out problems.

"He has a strong personality and is very confident. I also wish to point out that considering everything he has won, it is remarkable how professionally he behaves off the field."
