Spain U21 boss Luis Milla was satisfied with their 1-1 draw against England in last night's Euros opener.
Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera saw his goal cancelled out by Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck.
Spain struggled to turn their possession into chances, but Milla insisted: "It is true that the [England] goal came when we were the closest to our second.
"We have to be positive, look at the big picture, though with the nuance that the better you are, the more careful you have to be.
"This is a European Championship, the teams are very even.
"We knew England would be a competitive team, with a lot of speed and very powerful.
"We were careful and focused throughout the match."
