Spain are making a move for Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte.

While a regular with France's youth teams, Laporte is still to hear from Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps about a senior call.

Sport says the Spanish Federation are now making a concerted move to convince Laporte to declare for La Roja.

Laporte, a former Athletic Bilbao player, qualifies for Spain via his Basque roots.

For the moment, however, Laporte is keeping his options open.
