Spain coach Julen Lopetegui is confident there's no reason to intervene between Gerard Pique and Dani Carvajal.

Carvajal led Real Madrid supporter chants at Cibeles taunting the Barcelona defender with 'Pique, salute the champions you b*****'.

The pair have since spoken and Lopetegui, ahead of the friendly with Colombia, is comfortable there's no tension within his squad.

"That takes up more of you (than them). We are dealing with the approaching game," he said.

"We are passionate about the inner environment, which is wonderful. We have a team feeling. Everyone here defends the national team with the same vehemence they do with their clubs. There is nothing to reconcile.

"There's always been a great atmosphere."
