Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has defended Rafa Benitez over his disastrous spell at Inter Milan.
Del Bosque insists his fellow Spaniard is suddenly not a poor coach.
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "Benitez is a great trainer. His career speaks for itself.
"His only fault is that of not having had reinforcements, but rather only injuries and the injuries are certainly not his fault.
"Inter have a team that is already made. They can pay for the absence of Diego Milito who was decisive last year.
"But Wesley Sneijder is in a position to make the difference with his class. He is the team's key man.
"Sneijder deserved to be at least on the podium for the Ballon d'Or.
"Xavi and Andres Iniesta are my players and they won the World Cup, but on the other hand Sneijder was also there in the Final."
