Spain boss Aragones blasts Liverpool's Torres

Spain boss Luis Aragones has hit out at Fernando Torres following the striker's reaction when he was substituted during the 4-1 victory over Russia.

Torres set up David Villa's opener on Tuesday and impressed for La Roja, but was substituted quite early in the second half.

The Liverpool hero refused to shake hands with Aragones when he returned to the substitutes' bench, something that the 69-year-old cannot accept.

The coach said: "Those things stay in the dressing room. But this is not over. I can't let those things happen.

"I understand a player being irritated when substituted, it happened to me, but the atmosphere is extraordinary and being correct is important."

Torres has admitted he was frustrated to be removed, but is aware that the coach's decision is final.

"I haven't spoken with Luis (Aragones), but if he wants to tell me something, he can," Torres said on Onda Madrid.

"I suppose he will talk to me. Nobody likes to be replaced, but the truth is that it did not change the game.

"They scored two more goals and there's nothing more to say. It's a technical decision and you have to accept it."
