Southgate won't consider Arsenal pair Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain for U21 Euros

England U21 coach Gareth Southgate says he won't be considering Arsenal pair Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the 2015 Euros.

Southgate was impressed with his team and says senior England players like Wilshere and Oxlade-Chamberlain are no longer on his radar.

"I was talking to the Portuguese coach before the game and we both recognise that part of our role is to move players on. Then another group comes along and you try to develop them," he said.

"It is a key for us to have 20 to 23 players in the squad who all know what they are doing. You won't do well in a tournament unless you have got that."
