Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has offered words of support to Chelsea rival Avram Grant.

"The Chelsea guy has experience and as far as I'm concerned that's all you need," Southgate told the Observer. "It's more important to have a chairman who believes in you. Steve Gibson took the view that he should be allowed to appoint whoever he wanted, and quite right too. It's his club."
