Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate says Brazilian midfielder Fabio Rochemback is the "happiest" he's ever been on Teesside.

After their 2-2 draw with Newcastle, Southgate beamed: "Fabio's ball for the first goal was phenomenal. That's the kind of vision he has. The thing about Fabio is that he is happier now than at any time since he has been with us.

"He was frustrated after his ridiculous sending off in the pre-season friendly. It should never have happened to him.

"But I put him straight back into the team and he made a big impression for us."
