Gareth Southgate says he is ready to fight for Middlesbrough if the club is relegated this season.
Boro are currently second-last on the table with one game remaining where they must defeat West Ham United and hope champions Manchester United can defeat Hull City by a big enough margin.
If that does not happen, Southgate says he will not walk away from the club.
"I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt, but I'm big enough to deal with it," he said.
"Whatever happens at the end of the season, I'm going to go on holiday and, if we didn't stay in this league I'd want to take the team back up, I'm pretty clear on that.
"It's going to be a very tall order for us now. We just have to try to win our game and see what happens elsewhere," he added.
"But there are sure to be twists and turns on the way."
