Gareth Southgate was thrilled with the response of his England U21 side in their 1-1 draw with Finland.
The Young Lions fell behind when Moshtagh Yaghoubi sent in a long range free-kick which evaded goalkeeper Jack Butland in the 15th minute in their Euro2015 qualifier in Tampere.
But England levelled through Saido Berahino in the 67th minute before holding on for a share of the points despite captain Andre Wisdom receiving a red card in the 74th minute.
New boss Southgate, who opened his account with a 1-0 win over Moldova on Thursday, was happy to see his side continue playing even though they had been reduced to ten men away from home.
"We said at the beginning of the week that we won't go into every game and not make mistakes or not go behind, so it's how we respond to those things that matters," he said.
"We've got to keep doing the right things and we kept passing and probing. We kept doing that when we went down to 10 men as well, which was really pleasing.
"I thought (midfielders) James Ward-Prowse and Tom Carroll were terrific. Even when we were down to 10 men, they kept probing and opening them up, and also did a disciplined job defensively when we needed that cover."
