Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate will not consider cashing in on Stewart Downing this month to boost his own transfer kitty.
"There is nothing there so we have to accept it and get on with it, that is the task we are given," said Southgate about the prospect of being handed a transfer kitty by chairman Steve Gibson. So why not cash in on Downing now?
"It is not possible to get a player of his quality along with his feeling for the club and his desire to help the club," insisted the Boro manager.
