Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate doesn't expect to buy big in the January market.
Southgate, who drafted in the likes of Jonathan Woodgate, Jeremie Aliadiere, Mido, Luke Young, Gary O'Neil and Mohamed Shawky during the summer, with much of his business being offset by Ayegbeni Yakubu's £11.25million departure to Everton, knows he will not have unlimited funds to spend in January.
Southgate said: "We have to have that discussion as to exactly what we have available.
"We spent the money available in the summer and I probably got more than I thought I might.
"With the position we are in and the way attendances have been over the last couple of years, we have to cut our cloth accordingly and we have to make sure we do the right things in January.
"But whether we will have millions to spend, I doubt very much."
