FA chief Gareth Southgate has challenged Manchester City winger Adam Johnson to prove himself.

Southgate knows Johnson from their time together at Middlesbrough.

He told The Sun: "Adam Johnson might turn into something special but a lot of that's in his hands. He realises he needs to play."
