Southampton striker Ricki Lambert has paid a glowing tribute to Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard.
Scouser Lambert remains a big Reds fan.
He was asked whether he continues to consider the skipper as world-class.
"Definitely, without a doubt - but just in a different role now," Lambert told liverpoolfc.com.
"He's No.1 for me and I think he always will be. He has meant everything to me, growing up as a Liverpool fan.
"The nights he has given Liverpool fans are unbelievable - I'll never forget them and I know the Liverpool fans will never forget them."
