Southampton winger Nathan Redmond has posted a sincere apology for his penalty miss that saw England crash out of the European Championships at the semi-final stage.
The 23-year old took to Twitter to post his statement, which was accompanied by photos of him representing England at each youth level.
Part of the statement read: “Gutted to have lost in the semi final on pens. Sorry. I will continue to keep learning from these experiences and try to improve every day.
“There is work to do and I'm OK with the mental and physical challenges that lie ahead.
“I'm forever proud to wear the Three Lions shirt on my chest.
"I am sad to close a chapter on my England youth team football in that was but I've gained more than I've lost right through from U16 to U21."
A massive chapter of my life that's came to a close. Thank you for your support and messages. pic.twitter.com/xblxuNmd8i
