The Sun says Saints will see off Newcastle United and Reading to snap up Crystal Palace defender Clyne.
Saints have agreed a £1.5million plus compensation package for the 21-year-old - who is set to sign a four-year deal before the Premier League new-boys jet off to Switzerland next week.
