Southampton will settle for Europa League - Koeman

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has stated that he would be content if his side can manage a Europa League finish this season.

After a brilliant start to the campaign, the Saints went off the boil during the month of February and the Saints' poor run meant that they fell behind rival clubs in the chase for the coveted Champions League spot.

While the south coast side have managed to pick things up recently, they are still lagging six points behind fourth-placed Manchester United and look unlikely to finish in the top four.

Nonetheless, manager Koeman is not feeling too down despite the prospect of missing out on Champions League football and the Dutchman has stated that he will be pleased if his side can secure a Europa League berth.

The 52-year old said: "The Champions League is amazing to play in and amazing to be involved in. We know our situation, we know our qualities.

"If it's Europa League, that will be great for us."
