Southampton whiz Oxlade-Chamberlain grateful for influence of famous Dad

Southampton superkid Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is grateful for the influence of his Dad, Mark, on his career.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is wanted by England's biggest clubs, including Liverpool and Arsenal.

Mark Chamberlain dazzled down the wing for Stoke and Sheffield Wednesday and was on the Maracana pitch the night John Barnes scored his brilliant solo goal against Brazil in June 1984.

He is now on the coaching staff at another of his former clubs Portsmouth.

"I have not seen too much footage of my Dad, but I've heard he was alright!" Oxlade-Chamberlain told the Mirror. "He's been a massive influence from the start. We did a lot of one to one individual work. It's only natural for a father to give advice, obviously due to the fact he's accomplished many of the things I wish to in my career.

"I hope to play at the top level and to represent England in the World Cup."
