The Mirror says Southampton and West Brom are eyeing Schar.

The Hoffenheim defender, 25, has emerged as a January target for top-10 rivals Saints and the Baggies.

Southampton are eyeing stopper Schar, who impressed for Switzerland at Euro 2016, amid doubts over the futures of captain Jose Fonte and his centre-back partner Virgil van Dijk.

Saints are hopeful of keeping hold of both men next month but teams from the upper echelons of the Premier League are circling.
