Southampton are eyeing Cagliari defender Davide Astori.

The Italy centre-back, 27, was a target for Mauricio Pochettino last summer before he signed Dejan Lovren from Lyon for £8.5million, says the Daily Mail.

But with Lovren facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage Pochettino is ready to raid the Serie A club.
