Southampton have slapped a £5 million price-tag on wonderkid Adam Lallana.

The Sun says Tottenham are on the trail of one of England's brightest young stars but Saints will demand the same fee they received from Arsenal for Theo Walcott.

Tottenham had hoped to nick Lallana, 20, for £2m in a January swoop. He lives in St Albans, Hertfordshire, but slipped through Spurs' scouting net.

Lallana has become a regular at St Mary's where he only recently signed a new three-year deal.

The attacking midfielder needed an operation to cure an irregular heartbeat in his teens.
