Southampton are hoping to beat more fancied rivals to the services of Celtic star Victor Wanyama.
The Saints are prepared to spend £10million on the powerhouse Kenyan midfielder according to SunSport.
Arsenal are showing significant interest in Wanyama, who has also been tracked by Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool in recent times, but Southampton are hoping to hijack the Gunners' move for his signature.
Stoke City are also reported to be keen on the former Germinal Beerschot man who is expected to be the subject of a Premier League bidding war this summer.
